Who we are

Hampshire Podcast Studios (T/A name of STRAW HAT SOCIAL LTD, Reg. No. 14908060) is the data controller for the information described here. We run a content creation studio at Network Eagle Lab, Portland Terrace, Southampton, SO14 7JS.

What we collect

• Your name, email address and (if you give it) phone number.
• Details about the session you're requesting: package, date and time, number of guests, what you're making, the subject of your content, and any notes you add.
• Whether you asked to receive studio news by email.
• Anything you send us by email, phone or social media.

We don't ask for card details on this website. Payment is taken in the studio or by invoice.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To arrange and run your session — necessary to perform our contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering one.
• To keep business and accounting records — to meet our legal obligations.
• To send studio news and offers — only where you have given consent by ticking the box when booking. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf: our website and booking platform host, Google (Google Calendar and Google Workspace, used to schedule sessions and send confirmations), and our email delivery provider. Session bookings are added to our own studio calendar. Where the session is confirmed, you receive a calendar invitation; other people's booking details are never visible to you, and yours are never visible to them.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards they offer, such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses.

We do not sell your information to anyone.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for 24 months after the session date, then deleted, unless we need to keep them longer for tax or accounting purposes (normally six years for financial records). Marketing sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email hello@hampshirepodcaststudios.com and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Unsubscribing

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we'll remove you from the list straight away. Unsubscribing doesn't affect the emails we send about a session you've booked.
